Benefits and Challenges of Clinical Nurse Educator Roles: A Qualitative Exploratory Study

BACKGROUND: The nurse will successfully apply high quality of care if maintaining their comptencies. nursing is dynamic, and competency needed to be adapted. Besides, presence clinical educator (CNE) able strengthen nurses’ knowledge skill in the setting. AIM: This study aimed explore benefits challenges CNEs. METHODS: A qualitative exploratory design was used this study. Data were collected by focus group discussion with eight CNEs at Sanglah General Hospital Bali. Content analysis for analyzing data. RESULTS: findings suggest certain advantages hospital, such as continuing professional education becoming a role model. Greater incentive learn, well personal rewards increased self-confidence, being appreciated, trust. lack support from management related educational preparation function, ambiguous role, necessity continue giving direct care, CNE ratio number nurses not equal some that arose. CONCLUSION: serve critical context. They help ongoing maintenance. While numerous excellent outcomes have developed hospitals personally, many them confront several obstacles fulfilling work properly.
